One of the biggest story-lines of the 2019 NBA season was the watch for LeBron James passing NBA icon Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring list.
The LeBron vs Jordan debate has been one of the most prominent debates in basketball for years and although there will never be a true answer, moments like these can cause a shift in the debate and may sway fans in one direction or the other.
James has always been a great all-around player as the only player top 10 in all-time assists and points. In a loss to the Denver Nuggets, James still was the biggest story of the game, having surpassed an NBA legend and reaching another milestone in his career.
Since then, James has moved into number 1 on the all-time scoring list, passing Kobe Bryant in 2020, Karl Malone in 2022 and finally passing Kareem Abdul-Jabaar in 2023. He has become the first player to score 40,000 regular season points as well as 50,000 total points(including the playoffs and regular season).
